A Sense of Home

The interior collection by Alexandra Rakhimova Interiors emerged as a natural extension of the studio’s work — a continuation of our exploration of space through the finer, often imperceptible layers that shape everyday life. Within each project, we pay close attention to details: the way textiles fall, how materials interact, how daily gestures acquire form and rhythm.

Over time, it became clear that these nuances define the true quality of a space. When everyday objects carry depth, precision, and a refined tactile presence, they begin to influence perception itself — encouraging a slower pace and a more conscious experience of even the simplest moments.

The collection began with travel sets, originally conceived as personal gifts for clients, friends, and close collaborators. Cashmere has long been part of our practice, valued for its rare ability to evoke softness, comfort, and a sense of inner calm. Paired with silk — delicate and almost weightless — it creates a tactile environment that gently brings the body and mind into a state of rest. This led to the creation of a travel set — a blanket, neck pillow, and sleep mask — designed to preserve a sense of comfort and continuity even in movement, in those in-between moments where grounding becomes essential.

This sensibility continued into the bedding collection, which we approach as part of a spatial composition.

The fabric interacts with light and movement, creating a soft depth and fluid presence. The fineness and density of the weave give the material both smoothness and resilience, allowing it to move naturally while maintaining its structure over time. A sense of layering and fullness remains central — transforming the bed into a composed, visually balanced element within the interior. The colour palette is built on nuanced, natural tones: muted, complex, and softly aged, they establish a calm and cohesive visual field, allowing the eye to rest.

Table linens hold a particular significance within the collection, reflecting a deeply personal connection to hosting and the rituals of gathering. Setting a table is understood as an extension of space — a way of shaping atmosphere and creating moments of presence and connection.

Working with linen required a precise balance: preserving its natural, lived-in texture while achieving the density necessary for structure and durability. The choice of white is intentional — not as a neutral absence, but as a medium for light, shadow, and subtle variation.
It allows gestures to become more pronounced, revealing the rhythm of composition through folds, movement, and touch.

Trays continue this dialogue between function and aesthetics. Present in everyday scenarios — from organising objects to serving guests — they contribute to the overall sense of order and composition within a space.

In collaboration with artist Nikita Parechin, this familiar object gains an additional dimension. His work is rooted in the observation of nature as a state rather than an image — expressed through fine lines, diffused ink, and barely perceptible transitions. His series Silence, inspired by winter landscapes of central Russia, explores the poetics of stillness: vast, open пространства where presence is defined by restraint, and form dissolves into atmosphere.

There is a quiet intensity in his work — an attention to subtle shifts and the spaces between. Translated onto the surface of the trays, these compositions transform a functional object into a carrier of artistic expression, where everyday use is enriched by a deeper sensory experience.

The collaboration with Aziland introduces another layer to the collection. United by a shared respect for craftsmanship and material integrity, we developed a series of pyjamas crafted from exceptionally fine cotton, comparable in softness to silk. The fabric’s delicacy and fluidity allow it to move effortlessly with the body, creating a sense of continuous comfort that extends beyond the home. The process emphasised local production and handcraft — values that support a more thoughtful and enduring relationship with objects.

The collection unfolds as a cohesive sensory environment, where tactility, light, material, and daily rituals come together. It reflects a way of living shaped by attention — where even the simplest gestures carry depth and become part of a carefully considered, harmonious whole.
